These hate-filled actions have caused distress for Muslims around the world and demand Muslim unity to combat this vulgar display of hatred and mischief. The campaign aims to promote unity and understanding and showcase the true beautiful teachings of the Holy Quran.
In response to the unfortunate Quran burnings in Sweden, Denmark and other countries, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has launched a nationwide campaign titled Light of Quran to defend the Holy Quran.
This campaign is set to launch at the National Ijtima (Annual Gathering) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, Canada’s largest Muslim youth organization. A unique tent village has been created to house and host thousands of attendees of the three-day gathering. Muslim youth will travel from across Canada to partake in the knowledge-sharing of the Holy Quran. The gathering will also feature special competitions and interactive workshops.
Many prominent Canadians, including elected officials, dignitaries and community leaders are expected to attend.
The Holy Quran is a compilation of the verbal revelations given to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) over a period of 23 years. It lays down the law and commandments, codes for social and moral behaviour, and contains a comprehensive religious philosophy… In the 1400 years since its revelation, the Quran is universally accepted as being unchanged – a distinctive feature universally testified to by religious scholars.

“In Sweden and other countries, people have been given completely free rein to say whatever they wish (against Islam) in the name of freedom of expression. Under this pretext, they are cruelly toying with the sentiments of Muslims through vengeful acts that cause deep distress to Muslims. Their actions are cruel and abhorrent, whereby they defile the Holy Quran or use vulgar words about the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). In this regard, Muslim governments are also to blame for the dire situation that Muslims find themselves in because it is their disunity which has allowed the anti-Islam powers to act in these vile ways. If the Muslims have taken a stand or reacted (to the Quran burning), it will only be a temporary reaction that will have no lasting impact. Therefore, we must pray fervently for the Muslim leaders and the Ummah. There is a dire need for prayers.”
